Medical Case Management

  • Health related counseling and guidance to client on medication
  • Treatment adherence strategies
  • Coordination of referrrals to doctors and for durable medical supplies
  • Medical education about disease process       

Non-Medical Case Management

  • Coordination and linkage to support services (housing, food, benefits, entitlements, etc.)
  • Increasing access to and maintaining engagement in medical care.

Pharmaceutical Assistance

  • Pays for medications
  • Pays for pharmaceuticals
  • Covers prescription co-pays.

Support Groups

  • Client oriented topics that support consumers with adhering to their health, relationship related issues, addressing barriers, etc.

  • Coordinate and linkage to support services (housing, food, benefits, entitlements, etc.)
  • Stabilize housing situations
  • Increase access to, and engagement in, medical care

Short-Term and Long-Term Rental Assistance

Short-Term Mortgage Assistance

Project-Based Housing Rental Assistance for designated community based living at Straight Narrow, Inc. in Paterson

Permanent Housing and Security Deposits 

Assistance with Utilities, such as gas, electricity, and water

Nutritional Assistance, by providing food vouchers to local supermarkets

Transportation Services, such as bus tickets and taxi vouchers

Legal Services

  • SSI/SSD appeals
  • Housing descrimination
  • Housing court evictions
  • Guardianship matters
  • Other advocacy 

Emergency Housing or emergency shelter

Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Negotiating Growth and Empowerment

Prevention efforts that target persons living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) who continue to engage in behaviors that place them at risk for transmitting and/or acquiring HIV/STD’s/Hepatitis.

HIV Prevention Strategies

  • Street/Community outreach (SCO) includes street outreach to high risk areas and community education presentations
  • Health Education/Risk Reduction (HE/RR) groups are five workshops that are interactive, fun, educational, stress reducing, and a time to share common experiences while giving and receive support.
  • Comprehensive Risk Counseling Services (CRCS) is provided one on one to individuals who have complex life issues.

CAPCO Skills-Building Activities

  • Negotiation/refusal skills
  • Decision-making on disclosure of HIV status
  • Correct and consistent use of safer sex products
  • Other harm reduction techniques.

All services are non-judgmental, client-centered, culturally and linguistically tailored to meet the needs of targeted individuals and groups.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is the nation's leading industry-based, not-for-profit AIDS fundraising and grant making organization. BC/EFA is the on-going, committed response from the American Theatre community to an urgent worldwide health crisis. By drawing upon the talents, resources, and generosity of this community, BC/EFA raises funds for AIDS-related causes across the United States. Since its founding in 1988, BC/EFA has raised over $140 million for critically needed services for people with AIDS, HIV or HIV-related illnesses
